RESPECT ~ RESPONSIBILITY ~ KINDNESS

Family and Friends,

We have certainly entered into February with beautiful, snowy days! I hope everyone has gotten the opportunity to enjoy this time together. I have seen many pictures of cozy family time and winter sledding adventures (even a few here at school)!

I have no doubt that the remaining weeks of this month will be jam packed and be gone before we know it, so here at school, we will prioritize our academic time in order to address content that has been missed due to our recent days out of the classroom.

Best,

LLyons

Work Hard + Play Hard = Rigorous Joy

We have all gotten a chance to play hard this during the snowy days, so it will be time to work hard as soon as students return to school. We are half way through the third quarter, and this is the time for even more academic press.

Be sure you're helping your child monitor his/her grades in PowerSchool. Encourage your child to use nothing less than best effort on classwork and homework. Don't be afraid to reach out to the classroom teachers to better understand your child's progress.

Parent-Teacher Organization

There are two big dates this month for our PTO.

February 13th - PTO will host its annual Muffins With Moms event at 7AM. Students may invite their favorite ladies to join them for a morning treat! Don't worry gentlemen, Donuts with Dads will be coming back around shortly!

February 23rd - The February PTO Meeting will be held in the library at 5:30PM. There are several important topics to be discussed during this meeting, especially focused on some upcoming projects funded by PTO. This is a great way for your voice to be heard. Please join us!

Parent Teacher Conferences

Our official Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, February 9 from 4:00-7:00PM. While this time frame is relatively short, please make an effort to attend if invited by the teacher.

You may also set up a meeting time with teachers  or administrators during the school day if you reach out to them by phone or email to schedule in advance.

Attendance

We are hoping that the past few weeks has helped everyone recover from illnesses that have been going around and that all of our students will be back and healthy for the upcoming weeks!

Consistent attendance is critical to academic success. You all do a wonderful job of prioritizing attendance. Keep up the GREAT work!

Do you ever wonder how you can help your child be more successful in his/her school work? The answer is this simple -- READ!

Read with your children. Read to your children. Let them see you enjoy reading time yourself, and especially, listen to them read aloud to you.

We know you hear this recommendation from us over and over again, but it truly is a huge factor in academic success.
