Dear Sulphur Springs Families,
My name is Krissi McInturff, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve as your new principal. With eighteen years in education, most of those spent right here in Washington County, I’ve been blessed to work alongside incredible teachers, students, and families. Whether I was teaching in the classroom, supporting students through intervention, or mentoring new teachers, my heart has always been with the school community.
In 2023, I was honored to be appointed by Governor Bill Lee to the Tennessee State Board of Education, where I represent District 1 and help shape policy for schools across the state. That work has strengthened my passion for public education and deepened my commitment to ensuring every child receives the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition as Washington County’s Teacher of the Year and to take part in leadership roles that focus on collaboration, school growth, and teacher support. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development and a Master of Education in Elementary Education, both from Milligan University. I also completed my Instructional Leadership License through Bethel University and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in History at Liberty University.
My husband Rob and I live in Jonesborough with our two sons, Mac and Ted. We love our community and are active members at Hope Church in Gray, where we enjoy teaching Sunday School and serving together as a family.
Having spent over fifteen years in Washington County Schools, I know how special this community is. Sulphur Springs is already a place full of heart, and I’m excited to build on that legacy. Together, we’ll create a school culture that is welcoming, focused, joyful, and always centered on what’s best for kids. I look forward to working with each of you and can’t wait for the year ahead.
