News for Students...by Students!

This week our school held a reading night for our whole school. There were many hands-on activities related to Valentine's day. We enjoyed seeing everyone's faces and we're thankful for all of the parents and teachers' help! We would also like to mention that our 8th graders will be going on a trip to Daniel Boone and Northeast State Community College next week to take a school tour and see the programs that are offered.

Constructing Wind Turbines and Wind-Powered Pumps

Wind turbines were put together to harness energy for illumination and audio effects. This project illustrates the law of conservation of energy through the transfer of energy. Once the initial design was completed, students were encouraged to innovate and craft their own unique wind turbine blade designs. By applying the engineering design process, students developed prototypes and evaluated the effectiveness of their creations.

Problem solving and using their creativity in planning for alternative energy options!
