Message from Mrs. Krissi McInturff |
Dear Families, This week has been a busy one! Our baseball, softball, and soccer teams represented us well in their first official games of the season. Good luck to track tomorrow!
On Tuesday, we had almost 400 students and family members attend our "Roar Into Reading" night! I would like to thank Hope Church for providing pizza for everyone who attended, and we also appreciate Jeff Shelton for bringing the book bus. Our middle school theatre students did an amazing job performing The Lion King during their first two showings that night as well. It was such a fun evening. Mrs. Moore did a wonderful job preparing for this event. Yesterday, we held PreK and Kindergarten registration. I was so excited to meet our newest Gamecocks! Thank you to Ms. Mitzi for all the work she does to make this process a success. I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the warm weather. Don't forget to set your clocks forward on Sunday. As always, thank you for supporting our Gamecocks! Krissi McInturff Principal |

Name: Michelle Knight Role: 6th-8th Grade Science
What do you enjoy most about working at Sulphur Springs?: There's several things that I enjoy about teaching at Sulphur Springs, but the thing I enjoy most is looping with all the middle schoolers. It is a unique position to be able to see your students mature from 6th to 7th grade or from 7th to 8th or then to spread their wings and go to high school! Having year after year with them allows me to build an even stronger connection, which is amazing. What inspired you to be a teacher? My formal teachers, especially my 7th grade teacher Mrs. Crawford, and my love for science. I want everyone to have the love and curiosity for science that I do. Plus, my own middle school teachers sprinkled their love of science on me and encouraged me to be a strong woman in the field of science when it wasn't common. Science allows me and my students to question everything!
What’s a fun fact or hobby you enjoy?: Currently, coaching softball is my favorite hobby. I love seeing my girls accomplish their goals or do a skill that they didn't think they could do. When it's not softball season, I enjoy spending time with my family. Especially my husband, Kenneth, my dog, Sadie, and my nephew, Brooks. |
Seventh & eighth grade math tutoring with Mrs. Moffitt will be offered on the following dates:
Monday, March 9th Tuesday, March 10th Thursday, March 12th Tuesday, March 24th
Thursday, March 26th (This will be the final tutoring session.) Please make plans accordingly. I look forward to working with our students! |

We are incredibly proud of the hard work our middle school theatre and set design students have put into their production of the musical The Lion King. Their dedication, creativity, and teamwork truly shined during our Roar Into Reading Night performances, and attendees were singing their praises!
Our students have worked tirelessly on acting, singing, choreography, costumes, and set design to bring this beloved story to life. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and talents grow throughout the rehearsal process.
We still have three more performances scheduled for Friday, March 13 on EPIC Day at 8:00 AM, 9:45 AM, and 11:15 AM. Family members who wish to attend a performance are welcome but must sign in through the front office using Raptor upon arrival.
Thank you for supporting our students and the arts. We hope to see you there! |
