Cardboard Construction

5th Grade Design and Build
Progress is evident as the 5th grade students have learned cardboard design techniques and are now putting their training to good use. They are designing multipurpose cargo carts for a specific mission...as for now, the mission is a secret!

7th & 8th We Have Lights!
The students are use the Hummingbird Robotics kits and learning how to connect the wiring for lights and movement. This is the first step as they plan to use their cardboard construction skills to design and build an interactive robotic character or background to accompany a favorite children's book. 6th Grade Computer Science Students Conclude Digital Citizenship Unit

This week, our 6th grade Computer Science students successfully completed a comprehensive unit on digital citizenship. Throughout this unit, they explored critical topics such as balancing online and real-life interactions, recognizing phishing attempts, understanding their digital footprint, engaging in safe online chatting, addressing cyberbullying, and evaluating sources for credible news. Mastering these skills is essential in today’s digital age, as they empower students to navigate the online world responsibly and safely, fostering a culture of respect and awareness in their digital interactions.

Meanwhile, our K-5 students continue to thrive during their MindCave stations, where they are enjoying engaging engineering challenges and diving into captivating reading adventures. These activities not only stimulate creativity and critical thinking but also enhance collaboration and problem-solving skills among our younger learners. Keep up the great work, everyone!

Light and Shadows
Where's the best place to test light and make shadows...in a dark hallway! That is what our 1st graders are doing as they use the tools and try a variety of activities to see how the lights change colors and create shadows.

Hands on experiences create deeper meaning to their science concepts!

Old Timey Games

Marty Silvers introduced several games that children would have played many years ago. Games encourage movement and strategy, as well as collaboration from the team.

Big Bear/Little Bear challenged two students to weave in and out of the surrounding barrier created by students. The goal was for Big Bear to catch Little Bear...more challenging that it appears when the barrier decides whether to help the bear or block the bear.

Marty Silvers is HERE!!!!

Marty Silvers, Park Ranger from Warriors Path State Park, always brings excitement to the building. Students are always interested in the information he provides and wonder what he brought with him today. The bicycle is his trademark transportation.

Students created a large web of the essential parts of a forest using string to show the interactions are essential They also discussed how disruption of the web causes events that can be destructive.

Thank you Marty Silvers for your ongoing support for educating our students and bringing energy in the building!
