Message From Dr. Little

STEM DESIGNATION

Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10% or more of school days in a year, and it can significantly impact a student’s academic performance and overall development. Regular attendance is crucial for students to achieve their full potential, as consistent learning experiences contribute to academic success, social growth, and emotional well-being.

Our school is committed to working with families to support students in overcoming barriers to attendance. Here are some key steps we can all take to address this challenge:

  1. Open Communication: If your child is facing difficulties that impact their ability to attend school regularly, please reach out to us. We are here to provide support and work together to find solutions.

  2. Health and Well-being: Ensure that health issues are communicated to the school, so we can assist in making accommodations or providing resources as needed.

  3. Engagement and Support: Encourage your child’s interest in their education. Engaging in their schoolwork and maintaining a routine can foster a positive attitude towards school.

  4. Attendance Monitoring: We will continue to monitor attendance patterns and reach out proactively to families when issues are identified.

  5. Community Resources: Our school has various resources available to support families. Don’t hesitate to ask about community programs, counseling services, or academic support.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive academically and personally. By working together, we can help ensure that every student attends school regularly and makes the most of their educational journey.

Thank you for your continued support and collaboration.

Student Voice

Here at Sulphur Springs we reward our younger students who put hard work and effort into their everyday learning. This is an introduction to the students seeing what they will be rewarded when they reach their academic goals. This room is called the action room. We allow the young students of Sulphur Springs to enjoy indoor play with a fully functioning playground with tons of fun things to do. This is just a tiny piece of what we do here at Sulphur Springs.

Each team developed their own strategy to be successful. Using computational thinking skills, such as pattern recognition and decomposition, were used to accomplish the challenging task. Great teamwork in the problem solving process!
