Message from Mrs. Krissi McInturff

Dear Sulphur Springs Community,

Attendance Awareness Month is Underway

We kicked off Attendance Awareness Month this week, and we’re excited to reward students who show up on time and ready to learn.

Weekly Attendance Challenge
Students who go the entire week with no unexcused absences, tardies, or early dismissals will be entered into a prize drawing every Friday in September.

This Week’s Winner
Congratulations to this week’s winner, who received a free Wallabies coupon and a free kids’ meal from Texas Roadhouse.
New prizes will be available each Friday, so keep up the great attendance!

Homeroom Attendance Competition
We are also tracking homeroom attendance percentages. At the end of the month, the top homeroom in each group, PreK–2, 3–5, and 6–8 will win a special reward.

The winning homerooms will enjoy popsicles during recess, and their teachers will receive a relaxing, duty-free break while Mrs. McInturff supervises the students and hands out the treats.

Let’s keep the momentum going and make every day count!

Exciting 4s & 5s

In Mrs. Greene's kindergarten class, students are not just learning to count, recognize, and write the numbers 4 and 5. These students are developing skills that will serve them for a lifetime. The excitement of a young learner proudly declaring, "I did it myself!" as they realized their efforts matched the examples captures the joy of success in learning new skills.

Celebrate small victories that foster a love for learning in every grade level. Inspiring students as they achieve!

Middle School Spirit

Exciting times at SSES as our middle school students participated in a high-spirited pep rally to support our Fall Sports programs! This event showcased our athletes in cheerleading, dance, football, volleyball, and soccer…and definitely encouraged community spirit among students. Congratulations to Mrs. Clark's class for demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm and earning the SSES Spirit Stick! Let’s continue to promote teamwork and spirit in our school community!Let’s keep the spirit alive this season to promote teamwork!

5 Finch Lights

Turn on the Lights

Exciting developments in our 5th-grade classroom!

Students are engaging in algorithm development, utilizing Finch robots programmed with multiple lines of code. This hands-on experience encourages motivation and enthusiasm along with  emphasizing the critical skill of providing detailed information to achieve desired outcomes—a component that is essential for all content areas. Integrating lifelong skills in critical thinking and problem solving!

MindCave

Our middle school Life Skills 101 students sharpened their critical thinking by learning how to evaluate sources for validity and bias. After researching the steps and practicing their skills, they identified unreliable information with confidence! Equipped with these new skills, they created informative infographics to share around the school, empowering their peers to become savvy problem-solvers too!
