We are thrilled to welcome you to the 2024-25 school year! This promises to be our best year yet, with numerous exciting plans in store. Our focus remains on enhancing Family Involvement opportunities, as your partnership is crucial to our students' success. Effective communication is also key. Teachers will continue using Band for updates for now, while the administration will use an automatic text messaging service linked to the numbers listed in PowerSchool.
I could not be more proud of our students and families for the great academic year we had in 2023-24. I know that 2024-25 will be even better.
School Hours: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Doors Open for Students: 7:30 am
Breakfast: Served daily from 7:30 - 8:00 am
Late Arrivals: Parents arriving after 8:00 am must enter the school and sign their child in.
Give us a Heads Up! Let us know when your child is having a bad day or may need some extra support.
We will continue using Car Rider Pro again this year. All new parents will need a car tag, which will be scanned as you enter the car line. If you do not have your tag, you must enter the front office with a driver's license to sign your student out. Existing tag numbers from last year will continue to be used, and any new tags will be issued during Open House.
New Bus Procedures: Bus notes will no longer be accepted for students riding home with another student. All students may only ride their assigned bus.
Attendance is vital for your child’s success. Please familiarize yourself with the attendance policy in the Student Handbook. Our goal this year is to reduce the number of chronically absent students (those missing 10 or more days, including excused absences). Absences can be reported through our online form on the school webpage. Please remember that early dismissals and late arrivals also impact attendance, as students engage in learning throughout the entire day. Every minute counts.
For transportation changes, please send a note with your child or call the front office by 2:00 pm. Do not email the teachers, as they are teaching and do not always get to their emails in time to see the change.
You may use our Online Absentee Reporting System to turn in parent and doctors notes. You will find this on www.wcde.org/wves
Our webpage is frequently updated for your convenience. Here you will find the WV Student Handbook, the WC Student Handbook, and bus and car line morning and afternoon procedures. Please make sure that you visit this page.
